The history of leclaire began in the mid 1830s, when the first settlers came to the area. By the end of that decade, there were two towns platted, parkhurst and leclaire, the former just north of the latter. Leclaire has dining that ranges from gourmet cuisine, comfort food, fast food to local favorites as well as coffee and "libations lane" with wine tasting, brewery, distillery, and a variety of bars.
